The best present

Well this seems to be the best present for my 2 year old. She is wanting to sew all the time now. Unfortunately someone needs to be with her constantly so she does not get to. Her first sewing was to attach this lace to this material. So proud of herself! Not bad for a $5 pick up from an op shop!

OOOOPS!

Let this serve as a warning to you all.
Cooking pasta and sewing do not mix!

Presents for others

These are the gifts I have already given (apart from what I blogged earlier) The top one is a tea-towel I have appliqued onto. Below is a ballerina bag that I have made 4 of now for various people. Now to finish those late ones! :P

Presents for DD2

Well after all the sewing for DD1 this was all I got done for DD2 though to be honest she does not need anything really - plenty of hand me downs! I think I will make her more though cause she gets a bit of heat rash so looser fitting things could be better for summer.

Presents for DD1 #2

Gosh these photos are really dark sorry. But anyway, these are 2 long sleeved tops - you know it is summer but Melbourne weather is so unpredictable a girl needs everything!
This is a pair of pyjamas they are actually a yellow and pink stripe fabric that I bought heaps of when SL was getting rid of it - about 5 metres! Pregnancy insanity it was cause you cannot always wear the same print can you?

The light pink top here is the smocked top I made in a class. May have posted it before but cause I have given it to DD now I have put it in. The pink top with the dragonfly is actually a remake of a top she had in a smaller size. The joys of making their clothes they can always have their favourite and if needed I could make more than one....

Presents for DD1 #1

Okay so here are the first of the presents I made DD1. The purple dress has snaps on the top now.
These t-shirts are the same colour and for those of you in the know the big guy is my 'Igglepiggle' from the tv show "In the night garden". This t-shirt was the first ITNG present. It was quickly followed by an Upsy Daisy doll and some books.
Here is the Maisy outfit. We are going to a bookshop Maisy event in January so she might want to wear it then. She also got some DVDs and books about Maisy.

S'n'B gifts

For the end of the year my S'n'B group decided to all make a wash/dishcloth for the owner of the cafe where we meet. Mine is above it was a stitch pattern using 2 different needles. I used 4mm and 8mm needles. Then you just do a stocking stitch but when finished it is all lacy. It was quick so I could still work on my other xmas projects.
The red cloth is a grandmother's favourite cloth made by my mum and the parcel has all of them in it.

I wish I could figure out how to fix all the writing and pics so it did not look so demented! Sorry to any readers out there.

Summer Knitting Charity Challenge

Well here it is. The cottons I got for the Challenge at the LYS. Alright it is 4 entries worth and only 1 mine but aren't they pretty??

I do not know what I will make yet..I want it to be something useful for a charity maybe something for a premmie?? I will post the details below cause I have no idea how to link to this anywhere. I am slowly getting there. I am of the techno generation aren't I??

Not very good at advertising but it is worth a try the more who enter the more the charity receives!

Summer Knitting Charity Challenge

My LYS decided to host a Summer Knitting Charity Challenge this year. The challenge is to create something useful using the yarn included in your kit that will then be donated to charity.
The item that displays the most style and originality as judged by the owner, will win for its creator a $50 voucher to be spent at the shop (not redeemable for cash.)

The winner of the Challenge will be announced on the 3rd of March. The items will be displayed in the window before being donated to charity. The charity will be determined based upon what items are received and where they will be the most useful.

Recycled Crayons

What to do when your toddler has a temperature, your baby has been teething, you have not had much sleep and you need presents for playgroup friends the next day? (assuming we can go - she seems fine now!)

Of course. Make recycled crayons! I think they turned out ok. We had fun ripping off the paper and breaking them - well I did, DD only wanted to pick out the colours to go in the muffin tray. Not sure if this is what is supposed to happen or if I cooked them too long? Will try again when I have some more crayon ends..
Oh yeah and the muffin tray was a grey silicone one that now has some red tinges in some of the holes! Thinking it has become a craft tray now.

For anyone interested we now have 1 tooth. YAY although I did try to convince her dentures would be easier...

These are some clothes I made for a friend of a friend. hope she likes them.
And the t-shirt and ball are for a mum at my playgroup who just had her second child.

Knitting

Alright, am also on Ravelry and have already posted these pics there but unfortunately Flickr has some sort of problem with these 3 pics so has killed my account. What do you think it could be? Doll too risky??
The cardi type top was knitted with wool my aunt dyed so hope she is looking. Am currently kntting myself something with what is left over.

Children's clothes swaps

Ok so a quick update. Here are some packs I have sent of for children's clothing swaps. 2 were for my partners and 2 for my mum's - toddler clothing and baby clothing. Was only required to send out 1 item but I went overboard. In response to these 4 swaps sent out we have only received 1 in return. A cute denim pinafore for DD1. Flakers ugh. The worst part is that 2 of the flakers are people we sent to, so the lady who go the overalls and the lady with the jeans, dinosaur and purple hat have sent out nothing. :( Why do people do this?
Will go sort some more photos to post up....

I'm back

I AM BACK!!
Alright here I am deteremined to regularly update this thing. My poor stalkee friends cannot see anything I do but I can see all of theirs on their blog. I admit I am more of a lurker - watching and reading about others rather than sharing about me. Anyway since last post I have had another child. (Yep it has been that long.) Another little girl born in May '08. I have also got right into swapping! I'm addicted and the postage is costing me a fortune. I love making things but there are only so many things 2 little girls can have and unfortunately my sis buys things as well for her little boy so limited in how much he needs too. So here I am, back to share some stuff with anyone who cares to read.
